The sessions are open to all former ATC JTT league intermediate or advanced players, as well as players in the beginner level who feel ready to step up to intermediate. Parents who are working on their game to play with their children are also invited. The sessions start this Saturday, November 14 and continue through December 19th (no session on November 28). Saturdays, noon-1:15pm at Argonaut High School tennis courts Cost per player is $20/series (5 sessions in series) Call us at 304.0004 or 223.4501 for more information. Doubles Specialty Course This is a unique opportunity to elevate your doubles play and a great way to work out some kinks for those who are considering joining our USTA mixed doubles team for 2010. USPTA teaching pros Jim Triolo and Angella Woods will present roles, positioning, court geometry, and teamwork necessary to play women’s, men’s and mixed doubles at a higher level. Saturday, November 21st, 9:30am – 12:00pm at the Argonaut Courts Cost is $25 per player. We need 12 adult players (if we don't get 12, this clinic will likely be cancelled or postponed) USTA Mixed Doubles League Forming Amador Tennis Club is once again hoping to form a USTA Mixed Doubles team at either the 7.0 or 8.0 level. For men and women 18 years of age and older, mixed teams are developed with a combined ratings -- total NTRP rating cannot exceed level of team (i.e., 7.0 team could be a combination of two 3.5 players, one 4.0 partner and one 3.0 partner or one player a 3.0 and partner a 3.5). The rating spread between partners may not exceed 1.0. Each round will consist of three mixed doubles matches. The season will run from January 4 to April 12. If you are interested in being on the roster (able to play, but not necessarily HAVE TO PLAY in the matches), please contact Rosalie Escamilla at 304-0004 or Andy O'Loan at 295-4970. Check out USTA NorCal's Mixed League web page Jr. Team Tennis a Smashing Success Forty local children participated in our 5th season of the USTA Junior Team Tennis League, which wrapped up on October 25th with a pizza party and awards ceremony. Each year, we have an ATC "Brunch on the Courts" featuring some variation of social doubles play. Bring your own brunch dish to share. Event starts at 10am at Argonaut High School tennis courts. Many thanks to Rosalie for organizing this fun event! Join Us for Drop-In Tennis Join us for free social tennis on a weekly, year-round basis. Adults of all levels, high school players and advanced junior players are welcome. We play mixed/assorted doubles, singles, triples and even fives if necessary (mostly doubles; depends on how many show up). Wednesday and Friday evenings starting about 5:30pm at Argonaut High School, Jackson. No partner necessary, but please bring balls! New Lighting Timers at Argonaut With darkness coming early these days, the court lighting at Argonaut is in demand for evening play (and even a couple crazy fellows who play in the morning darkness!) You may notice we now have timers so the lights won't stay on when no one is playing. The timers run for two hours and while playing, you should reset them BEFORE THEY RUN OUT to avoid waiting up to 15 minutes for the lights to cool down and come back on. Please remember to turn off the lights when you leave (turn the timer counterclockwise to "OFF").
